Massage Myths and Truths

Deep Tissue Dilemma

Your Massage/Bodywork Treatment should never be painful. The most effective results are through manipulation, not necessarily pressure. In fact, each soft tissue layer of each muscle is unique and should be treated with precise soothing care. "Slight soreness" is to be expected for 24-48 hours following treatment. This is to feel like an intense workout, due to the muscles rebalancing. Staying hydrated will help flush out any toxic fluids that could be trapped and possibly causing harm to the soft tissue.

Medical VS Regular

This is where Health Insurance coverage answers come in. Medical Massage Practitioners (MMP) have an advanced level of education in muscle theory and insurance billing specifically for massage/bodywork practices. Most MMP's hold a National Provider Number (NPI) This unique number allows for insurance billing purposes. Depending on each case, and insurance plan, it is possible to receive discounts or reimbursement for treatment.

Expected Etiquette
